I paid less than $40 for my last set. They have lots of frames to choose from and are available with photo-chromatic, tinted, anti-glare, etc.

There is a company in Italy that now owns something like 70% of the frame market and they have driven the price of frames through the roof. They own LensCrafters, Pearle Vision, Target Optical, Sears Optical, Oakley, Ray Ban, Sunglass Hut, and many others. They have close to a monopoly and are using it to charge way too much for frames.
