The application will give you an idea of what's required. I didn't see anything about minimum credit hours. The application just says that the degree has to be primarily counseling in content. This does not mean it has to be a degree in counseling. The application lists applied psychology as acceptable, but the degree can really be in anything counseling-related. It has to cover courses like psychotherapy, human growth and development, counseling or applied psychology, group dynamics, psychopathology, etc.
