WELL DONE That was a good pick for the first CLEP. Go with the tests that you think you are interested in and think you will do well with. If you are not sure which tests to take; go to Free CLEP prep .com website and take one of the tests you are considering. If you are considering 2 tests...let's say you think you want to take US history I (I thought it was easy) but maybe Introduction to Sociology (I thought that was easy and I had to do it on paper and write an essay back when I took it)...take them both (they are free). Whichever test you do better on/feel more comfortable is a pretty decent indicator of what test you should be abel to take and pass quickly (if time is one of your issues).
Also, want to know which tests have a high success rate? You can look at the thread on here where people wrote about which tests they scored a 60 or above using nothing but Instant Cert. Some people also use the military pass rates. There is a thread on this site about how to find that. I personally just take the tests I need for my degree and the ones I feel most comfortable with first (I take the practice tests to back up my decision). To find those other links, use the little white search box on the top of this page to type in your keyword and that will give you all the threads to use as a tool to help answer your questions.
Best of luck! And congratulations on taking that first step!!!
