First I want to say wow, thanks for everyone who has contributed to this site. I am 12 credits was from my BS in IT concentrating in networking, and wish I saw this site a year ago.
First I go to University of Phoenix, and started a long time ago. I am a full time professional and right when I thought I was going to be done my degree in 2011, I found out a previous adviser screwed up in my scheduling and I had 12 more credits with no more financial aid. So I couldn't afford it. Fast forward to today, and I found out my appeals went through and I can either re-register or test out. I wasn't told of the test out option before, which was available then as I was told today.
I am already using the flash cards for Manage information systems, and really nailed it in a short time, which gives me hope in knocking these credits out in what I hope to be 4 weeks. Just want to do a few more days of studying to see if I retained it before I schedule.
Thing is I know a lot of people now look down at UoP degrees, when at the time it was the only school I could go to with online courses readily available. So I am thinking of doing another degree and I see a lot people post about TESC and Excelsior College and how they completed their degree by testing mostly.
My goal is to probably become a teacher in New Jersey. I live in PA but read all the requirements for the CE and Praxis II and just have to get transcript approve after that. The only praxis I can take is the Technology Education. My real passion is history and science.
Has anyone finished a history or science degree through the method of testing?
