Will passing a CLEP replace a previous F?

Contact the registrar by email and find out what the official policy (which can vary by school) is. Ask for a link to a reference stating the policy. Find out what replacement means. Replacement might mean that for GPA calculations the F isn't used but that the F remains on the transcript. If that's the case, you could get your GPA back, but if you apply to graduate school in sociology, you might have some explaining to do. If you apply to medical or dental school, you might need to explain the F.
