Well, it also depends on the MEPS you attend and the recruiter you get. I don't think If I buy into what that recruiter said, either. I saw a couple of people at MEPS, back in 2007, get denied due to their body artwork. And back then they were handing out enlistment bonuses like crazy. I also notice tattoos impacting your promotion points, as well. The only time see it not playing a crucial role in your rate of promotion is those in the SF community. Though, even then, it's still a crap shoot.
