Depending on how long you have it and how your body heals the hole may never close. My grandmother didn't wear earrings for over 35 years and she still had holes. The point is that when you do something like this it can't be for a fad or to give in to peer pressure, it has to be your decision and a valid decision. JMHO. I don't want to raise my kids to follow every whim and teen trend and feel the need to "be cool" or "fit in" you have to do what everyone else does. It has to be a logical process. I guess I'm just too old fashioned, but I have wild friends and I have seen how some of their decisions as teens and young adults held them back or negatively influenced their options as adults. It is truly a personal preference and I figure if my kids really want to do something they will still do it after they think about the and reflect on it, hence he has his ear pierced for almost 3 years, while some of his friends keep getting more piercings and tatoos trying to look better and feel better about themselves.
