I have also looked at changing my degree from History to Soial Science. I am also thinking of adding Social studies to my teaching abilities. I think the social Science degree gives you greatewr flexibility and range.
I think with your Pell grant you need to actually take a minimum of 6 credits a semester so your plan seems good.
You are smart to think ahead and do this while you are home, I wish I had known then what I know now. It is a smart way to prepre yourself for when the kids go to school all day.
