Natural Science and Math majors

Ah, OK, well maybe someone else will benefit from what I posted. There are enough biology courses out there, and some chemistry (biochemistry, organic chem and inorganic chem) but I haven't seen anything beyond introductory physics.

Exelsior has an UL ECE for pathophysiology, whatever that is.

I'd guess that's really for nursing students. I'd say all decisions on which courses/exams to take should be made with grad school in mind, if applicable.

...I'd check first just to be sure. Patho might be considered a free elective in that degree- if it's got nursing in the course description or alpha-numeric. In fact, if it's a nursing course, I'd bet on it. I can't imagine (!) taking that and finding it in my free elective pile next to femas. :ack: You can find anatomy and physiology w/lab offered through biology depts, but even those are 100 level.

Rule of thumb: Nursing majors can take sciences from a science department, but science majors can't take sciences from a nursing department. You have to watch, because they often use the exact same titles.

How did you add Aleks Beginning and Intermediate Algebra after already having passed College Algebra? I thought you couldn't get credit for a lower-level class than one you've already taken.

For example, I already have various calculus classes done. I would love to take College Math, Algebra, etc. to get extra elective credits to finish my degree, but that would be "going backwards", and I could've sworn I read they don't accept that.

Any info much appreciated!

Thanks
(guess I should probably just PM her, sorry folks)

if you find you really need to take DL courses, Athabasca is another option, they have tons of Math/Science UL credits. Even though they're Canadian, they have that middle states accreditation or whatever so you can send your transcripts directly to any American University, and it's a free service with them.

Lots to choose from

Courses by Subject A-B : Athabasca University

However it's not so cheap, I guess a 3 credit course will run you near 1000USD.

Good point- given the price it may only make sense for courses unavailable elsewhere or for that tuition rate.

Not Linda- but that is a college policy. Some colleges have that policy, but many don't. TESC does NOT have that policy. So if you have taken Calc, there are many lower maths you can back-fill with.

Has anyone checked into COSC's BS in Mathematics. I think its just a concentration, and I don't know much about COSC, but I thought I'd mention it.

Here is the link:
Mathematics Concentration (Major) at Charter Oak State College

I'm kind of interested in this degree also.
