Howdy! I enrolled into Excelsior's BA Business Program and was evaluated at a 3.1 GPA for my 120 existing units. Thinking about getting into competitive graduate programs for the MBA, I realized that I may need my GPA to be a bit higher. I am looking to replace many of my C and B grades with "PASS" from testing.
So I'm two weeks into my 4 week program to raise my GPA up to 3.5. I've taken (7) CLEP/DSST tests to equal 24 Credits and I am up to a 3.32 now.
I've got 3 more (Micro, Macro, Financial Accounting) to get to a 3.46 GPA. and I'll have to take 3 more to replace former B grades to get it at 3.5
When doing the calculations of how this worked, it was interesting to find that in my situation:
* Replacing a former C grade, equals approx .04 increase in GPA
* Replacing a former B grade, equals approx .01 increase in GPA
* A PASS grade warrants more increase than an additional "A" Grade (thought about this when considering taking a Straighterline course instead of a CLEP
Thanks to InstantCert, I have not yet had to study more than the flashcards because I remember most of this content from the class I took 15 years ago. Thanks to y'all here on the forums providing nice guidance and support. I'll give you an update once this process is complete.
