Help finding online CIS courses
#1
I need to take two CIS courses to finish requirements for my BSBA in CIS at TESC. I’ve already taken Intro to Programming through Penn Foster and am currently working on Visual Basic, also trough Penn Foster. I can take CIS courses such as Operating Systems, Networking, Database Management etc. but they can’t be programming type courses and they also can’t be intro to computers type courses. Any suggestions? Self paced or instructor led? Proctored or non-proctored exams?

Thank you!!!!

Upper or lower level? I took networking at my community college. Chadron State College let me enroll as non-degree-seeking for 12 cr of upper level IS courses, included database. I was very satisfied. Flat $505 per course, at the time. No proctored exams; they use Examguard.

Both upper and lower level would qualify, I think, but I would have to run it by an academic advisor to be sure. Are courses at Chadron State College instructor led or self paced?

I am taking a class on Microsoft Access from Clovis Community College. It is a guided class, and the cost is not too bad either. Did you end up with any more ideas? I was also looking for such classes online.

BTW, how did you find the Penn Foster courses? Are they guided or self study? Also, do you have a link where I can look them up and apply on line? Thanks

Doesn't TESC itself offer those courses? Empire State College may offer some of them as well.

They do, but it is costly. Penn Foster, LSU and Clovis are way cheaper.

I have seen CIS courses offered at NC State and UNC Chapel Hill.
This is a good tool for searching....
