What's In A Name?
This is a fun break from study!

My user name is the name of the Jane Austen heroine I identify with the most, Elinor Dashwood from Sense and Sensibility. Still waiting for Edward... Wink

My screen name – NAP – represents my favorite part of independent study and taking exams for credit. There are No Assigned Papers to write! As a math major, this is great.

bric-a-brac: 1. at random, without rhyme or reason; gradational compound from elements of obscure orig. 2. miscellaneous small articles collected for their antiquarian, sentimental, decorative, or other interest.

my screenname serves two purposes - I am a true Eclectic...in my philosophy, fashion sense and decorating (African, Native American, Chinese, East Indian) and its also play on my initials....so its a 2fer...Big Grin

Maniac Craniac (n) He who suffers from Crania Mania.

Crania Mania (n) Compound syndrome of excess excitement or energy levels (mania) and an obsession with matters related to the content of the neurocranium (crania).

The name came to me in a flash of insight. It was originally an internal debate between Maniac Craniac and Maniac Brainiac. Obviously, the former won, but why? Well, I couldn't very well call myself a "brainiac" when I was a newbie to DegreeInfo, a site flooded with Doctors, Half-Doctors, Professors and ShotoJuku

I think it has a nice ring to it Cool and an awesome initialization Cool it and it rhymes Cool

In the dark ages, long before Al Gore invented the internet, and anyone knew what a screen name was, my handle came to be. I happened to have a book signed by author Stephen King on 8/8/88. For some reason he wrote, “To Terry – Master of the Universe.”
