If it makes you feel any better, I was just at the bedside with my dad as he had this done first week of January. It was very quick, he was awake, and back home in a few hours.

My dear friend (at forty-something, it seems ridiculous to say boyfriend) had one done a few years ago, and he is very much recovered and thriving. He said the difference he felt was almost immediate.
