PITT is a bummer....

from the school of pharmacy:
all pre-professional courses must be obtained from an accredited USA institution for a letter grade Pass/fail, online, distance learning, CLEP and foreign courses are not accepted.

they don't like online courses or CLEPS, but they use distance learning for a lot of their programs, their MSN program revolves around DL:
Distance Education at the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing is a formalized teaching learning system specifically designed to be carried out at remote sites by using electronic communication and computer technology. Because students are not constrained by their geographic limitations, distance education offers opportunities for students to be an interactive part of the Oakland classroom while physically sitting at off-site locations such as the branch campuses at Johnstown or Bradford, or hospitals such as UPMC St. Margaret's, where the live feed is being transmitted. Students at these remote access areas are able to participate in class discussions and receive input from the teacher in real time. The majority of the core courses of the Master's Program are offered via Distance Education and a schedule is provided each term.

from the school of dental medicine:
The admissions committee does not consider highly those applicants who have been enrolled for more than one-third of coursework (both general and required courses) in community colleges or junior colleges.

booo pitt....

And they're pretty expensive too, it looks...

One day schools like this will be dragged kicking and screaming into the Present.
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Wile E. Coyote, genius. I am not selling anything nor am I working my way through college, so let's get down to basics: you are a rabbit and I am going to eat you for supper. Now don't try to get away, I am more muscular, more cunning, faster and larger than you are, and I am a genius, while you could hardly pass the entrance examinations to kindergarten, so I'll give you the customary two minutes to say your prayers.

Bachelor of Science in PsychoRabbitology degree
Master of Education with a specialty in Rabbit-specific destructive munitions (or eLearning & Technology, I forget which)
Doctor of Philosophy in Wile E. Leadership with an area of specialty in Acme Mind Expansion - 2017 Hopefully

Lol seriously! I don't know why they're so anti. They just flat out refuse to accept cleps, distance courses, no matter how qualified an applicant may be..... IMHO they should be welcoming people who clepped out of courses with open arms, we are the smart ones for not paying an arm and a leg on lower level courses haha.

Yeah, they're charging $20000-45000/year depending on the program... This is definitely dollar motivated and not prior-learning motivated. Gotta keep up those 6 digit incomes for the tenured professors.
