Spilling my guts
#1
Well, shhhhhh no one really knows this yet, but I'm GOING TO NURSING SCHOOL!

I'm doing my last pre-req right now through Ocean County College, NJ (awesome online science by the way Ocean County College) for an associate degree program, and if I don't make the first cut- or they don't accept all my CLEP/DSST gen eds, I'm going into an accelerated BSN program. It's my second choice because it has more prereqs and costs a fortune.

I'm crazy to be sure, but i'm going to keep on taking classes at Harvard as time and money allow- the classes are A+, even though I may not earn my degree with them, I really enjoy the learning.
I will tell my employer next month that I quit, but I let you guys in on it early! I can't keep it quiet any more! I will have been at that college for 18 years, a chef for a lot longer than that, and I'm ready to do something else for my last 20 years.

My life-long goal is to become a midwife, and that's where I'm headed. Big Grin

Congrats on such a great choice!

Just as an FYI - according to the RNs I know, the BSN is worth the extra time and investment. You absolutely want to stick with RA programs for the ADN and BSN, because you may want (need?) to continue on to the MSN for your career goal.

Should we now call you Nursederosa? Big Grin
