I passed College Math with a 70 and Intro to Sociology with a 69 using IC only. I am a buisness major, so neither are in my field of study. It's very doable!

There's only one test I've taken where I ONLY used IC... usually I use IC in conjunction with a textbook, sparknotes, iTunesU or something...

But the one I took was :

i got a 77 on a&i literature cold. everyone should really take this test, it's 6 easy credits if you know how to read a book.

Hi everyone,

I took the SS & H today and passed it with a 53. This placed me out of 2 classes; that is why I included my comments in this thread. I am 40 years old, and have not studied these subjects for about 20 years. I studied the recommended flashcards for about 6 hours, and was able to pass the test. I think that IC is the way to go when studying for the CLEP (at least the SS & H CLEP, since I have not yet taken another test to compare). Thank you IC for saving me a couple grand today! Oh, and I think that the percentages in the recommendations are correct; about 40% history and 60% sociology, psychology, etc.

This thread will really help new students, as well as those looking to boost their GPA, if everybody participates.

Criteria:
1) Must have only used IC to prepare
2) Must have scored at least a 60.
3) There is one exception. Please include pass grades on the 6 credit general exams like college math, humanities, etc., if you passed them using IC exclusively.

Here are mine. Scores of 60+ using only IC.

Drug and Alcohol Abuse 60
Here's to Your Helath 64
Criminal Justice 60
Fundamentals of Counseling 63
Managemnt Information Systems 63
Principles of Management 70

This is just me but I think you should add another rule.

4) Must have had little to no knowledge of the subject taken.

I only suggest this because it could be misleading if let's say you are a police officer and take the CJ course. Maybe people could just put disclaimers stating they had prior knowledge.

I've never studied for a CLEP using only IC, and I don't think it's a wise thing to do, even for the easier exams.

However, I scored a 60+ on every CLEP I've taken with the exception of Natural Science (58).

That is a good idea...but this thread only informs people on here 'their' exams where they only used IC to study and pass with 60+
