iSpell trouble??
#1
The spell checker used here iSpell is causing my computer to error/crash every time I run spell check (uhhhh...every post!) which is on my last nerve. I can't seem to find a way to reinstall this- or figure out what's going on . Is this my computer, a forum issue, an iSpell issue or what???
P.S. the other distance learning forum I am on makes causes the same crash when I spell check too.

I'm not sure if you're using Internet Explorer or Firefox, but if you use Firefox (or want to install it), it has a built-in spellcheck function. Sorry I don't know anything specifically about why iSpell would crash your PC. It's most likely something to do with the application rather than the forums though.

Good luck!

I noticed that too. I only tried it once, then I didn't bother anymore. I usually just type my messages on MS Word, then cut and paste to the forum.
Problem solved.

I just want to second the nomination for Firefox with spell check. It's fabulous.

Yep, Google Chrome's got a built in spell checker as well. I love this browser

LOL, believe me, you want me to spell check my posts. On the "reply to thread" window, there is the "ABC" spell check icon on the right- so do you guys mean you don't have that?? If you click it, what comes up? That iSpell thing was a default, I use IE, but the first time I hit the spell check icon (years back) it installed and that was it. Also, it's used on the nursing forum I'm on too- so I need some help here- I have to either figure out how to reinstall this or take it off as my default speller...so to anyone- what comes up if you hit your icon??

I don't think I have it. None of the little icons say "ABC" and when I held my cursor over all of them none of them say spell check?

I wish I could be of more help...

Amen. Firefox is awesome. After using it for a while (it has an add-on that blocks advertisements!) there is no going back to Internet Explorer.

Ok, I'm here in Firefox. The spell check feature is automatic- it underlines words in red just like a word processor. Sweet. THANKS guys!!
