I passed my Social Studies and History CLEP with a mark of 70!!!
After several years of procrastination I finally registered, studied a little, took, and passed one of these things. This is due in no small part to a few weeks of lurking on this forum and learning about testing out from all of your shared experiences. Thanks!!!
I'm a 26 year old vet (ex-USCG MK2) with some 40 something odd military credits and full post 9/11 GI-Bill entitlement. I'm not 100% sure which degree program I'm interested in but there are a few things that I am sure of:
1. I hate having my chops busted by teachers/profs
2. I hate homework
3. I cannot stand sitting through class on something I already know
4. Going through a class at the speed of the dumbest student is excruciating
5. Mandatory class attendance not only stinks on general principle (specifically, the principle that the customer is always right), it can be damn inconvenient when you have a lot of things going on besides school.
6. Finding parking at the local North Jersey B & M's is a biotch.
7. Ditto for finding the building (Why do they HAVE to call them all halls?!?!?)
8. The feeling I had after seeing my score up on the screen, knowing all my self study, practice tests, etc paid off was priceless. Knowing I racked up 6 credits for a little over a $100, all things included was the icing on the cake.
Well as you all can probably tell by now I have some issues with B&M's and traditional college as a whole ;-) I'm really excited about the prospect of testing my way through college and am glad to be here on this board. Ciao!
