Standard Deviant videos?
#1
I have heard several people refer to these videos. My library doesn't carry them. Can anyone give me info and maybe a link so I can figure out if they're useful in my quest for education hilarious ?

You could also try eBay....I sometimes see some of them up for bid there. (I just bought the 3 SD videos for Statistics and will probably put them on eBay when I'm done with them).

Good luck!

If my library doesn't have a book or video that i would like to get, I can usually order it through my library using interlibrary loan. Most of the time it doesn't cost anything. I can't request DVD's but i did get the Standard Deviant Sociology videos that way.

I watched the SD videos in high school chemistry. They are really entertaining and helpful. I don't know about any other subjects, but Chem was good.

Hey Adam. Thanks for letting me know that the chemistry ones are good. I have been hesitating to buy them but now that I know they were useful to someone I will go ahead and look for them.

And welcome to the board Bob, Mom59 and Adam!

I found that the american goverment video set was super corny, but at the same time, it seems to stick with you. I was planning on taking this exam first and was in the process of studying for it, got sidetracked and now it is probably the 2nd to the last clep that I have lined up. (This and Sociology). But I still feel the stuff from the videos are there are there in my head. (wish I could say the same for the SD French!)

I checked out mine from the library (not a popular item for some reason) watched them once, taking notes.

I'll use instacert and review the notes the night before.

Highly recommended!!!

You will find that most, if not all of the SD videos are "super corny" but they can "grow" on you. More importantly each "kernel" of information can be easily digested by both eye and "ear" so you can reach a high score as tall as a summer "stalk" in August. Big Grin

Actually, for those of us that learn better from a visual and audio source rather than a printed source, the SD videos are terrific!
