TESC Lowers FEMA Credits Accepted to 25
#1
Just got a message from TESC adviser. They now accept only 25 FEMA credits, not 27! How can they change the policy after I have enrolled? It's only 2 credits lost, but it still bugs me.

Hi Brian:

Do you know if that is the cap if your were to transfer them directly from FEMA? I was wondering if you could take extra FEMA credits and transfer them to FCC and then transfer them to TESC to cover the 27 electives I would need for my degree.

25 credits towards a degree ... but you can have up to 38 on the credit bank. i think this doesnt make a difference to you though...

Well, TESC accepts them for free and FCC charges $60 per credit. I guess I could ask if they will accept 2 through FCC.

I'm wondering the same thing, cauz aren't there like 41 credits from FEMA available for credit hours?? So could we take the first 25 raw, and then trascribe the other 16 on an FCC (or CCC???) transcript and get credit for them all? This wouldn't look bad on a Public Assistance degree....
BA in Social Sciences from TESC complete!! Looking into online grad schools :coolgleam:

TESC does accept those 3 NFA courses as well. I seriously doubt they fall into the same 25 credit pool as the FEMA credits. Something to look into.

Thanks, I will have to look into that. Otherwise I'm looking at one more DSST to cover the loss.

Is it possible that....
you already have free elective credits, thus only "room" for 25?
you took 2 from unapproved FEMA classes, rather than approved classes?
TESC changed "the list" and there are others you can do?

Long shot, but just throwing out a few ideas.

Fastest would be taking a DSST.
Cheaper than DSST would be to the NFA classes, or to grab 3 credits using ALEKS ($20)

Brian,

If I were you, I would take Prin of Supervision for an easy 3. What do you think? It's an easy test.

Thanks Jennifer, They changed the policy, and only allow 25 now. There is a note on my eval stating the new policy. I think I will take a DSST. Either Foundations of Ed, or Fund. of Counseling.

I'm just kinda shocked that I would not be grandfathered in seeing that I am enrolled.
