Hello, I'm new here and I have some questions about how the online diploma process works. After doing some research, I came up with a plan. First, I want to choose a school, then gather as many credits as possible from resources like Study.com and Sophia, and later enroll in the school and transfer those credits. Is this how the process works? For the school, I am considering TESU, which accepts international students. I am here to understand the process and figure out what kind of plan I should follow.

For TESU, we actually recommend that you enroll upfront, then gather your credits. This is because TESU does not charge onerous fees or forbid you to transfer in more courses while you are enrolled, like some schools do. This allows you to transfer credits as you go and see where they are applied to the degree, and it locks in the catalog so that future changes don't affect you.

I’m an international student planning to pursue an online CS degree, and after doing some research, I’ve decided on TESU. However, I’m new to this process and could really use some guidance.
At the moment, I don’t have any transferable credits. Would it be a problem if I start earning credits through platforms like Study.com or Sophia first, and then enroll at TESU later? I’m unsure of the best approach, and I’d also appreciate any information regarding the costs involved in this process.
My main goal is to complete the degree as quickly as possible while keeping costs manageable, so I’d also appreciate any insights on the total costs of the degree, including tuition and additional fees.

I'll let those more knowledgeable than me chime in, but I do believe if you're starting from 0, it isn't a bad idea to keep "enrolled" status to preserve the catalog for the year your enrollment began. I also believe you're limited to 2 credit evals while you're not enrolled - you'll want to finish your alt credits and get them transferred over every so often to avoid issues like ACE recommendation changes - I wouldn't want to get up to 90 alt credits, try to transfer them all at once, then find out 20-30 are no longer accepted or don't fall into the slots I thought they would.

Merging your thread together so you get more traction and the info is more complete... Anyways, create a spreadsheet by following the WIKI plans, you should start working on those Sophia.org classes, then ladder into the Study.com classes, etc. Once you have the max transfer available, you would then finish the remaining classes at TESU. Link us to your spreadsheet on your Google or One drive, make the file viewable and not editable, we can comment on what needs to be changed (don't deviate, you should use the exact classes on the WIKI).
