Hello!
I am considering taking this course, I would deeply appreciate if anybody has taken it and can kindly let me know if it is doable in a short amount of time, since I have to be done by end of Oct. or Nov. How many assignments? Are they time consuming? How long does it take for the grade to get to EC?
I am debating between the DSST test or this course. DSST would be one exam. How many proctored exams with PF?:confused:
Thanks for any feedback!  I have to start working on this ASAP!

The last course I took at PFC was Business Math. The course required 5 graded assignments that (open book) you do at home; and 1 final proctored exam (open book), that you can take at a library or wherever. Everything was essentially self-paced open book assignments that you submit online (Graded instantly). The financial accounting course should be no different.
I have no idea how long it takes for the grade to get to EC. I know that it takes maybe 10 days from the date that your proctor mails your final exam for the grade to be posted online.

PF Financial Management course work is doable in 2-3 weeks....but there is a time lag in getting your materials, submitting a proctor and getting him/her approved, doing a retake of the final if you don't pass the first time. I would say that if all things go right you could realistically finish and have the transcripts to EC by end of October.
The course has about 6-8 modules that you need to complete. Each module has an open book test at the end of it. The final is proctored. They send the final to your proctor who then coordinates a time with you to take it. The final is timed. You need to pass the final with a minimum of a 70. If you fail the final, you have one chance to retake and pass. The second final probably won't be as difficult as the first. 
I wouldn't say it is easy....but it is definitely self-paced.
The other good thing is that the course is devoid of fluff and the books that come with the course are keepers.
The proctor that you choose needs to have an A.A. degree and can't be a blood relative, but beyond that its your choice....so use your noggin....who you choose is up to you.
If you do decide to go for it. When you call to enroll, explain your situation and they will give you the option of paying extra to expedite the shipping of materials. I found them to be very helpful.

I deeply appreciate your feedback. I will definitely go for the course. I think that it would take me the same time preparing for the DSST test, so I will go for the course!
I will be calling tomorrow to enroll and follow your tip to try to expedite the shipping of the material! I heard that even a calculator is included! Sounds like a good deal to me!

Thanks a lot! I took the course and I enjoyed it very much. It took me in total 1 1/2 month and EC got my transcripts yesterday.
They sent me all the material: a guide, a text book and a calculator. That was more than enough. Each lesson took me no more than 4 days!! But also maybe because I had already taken accounting and financial analysis courses, I did not find the course complicated at all, but very interesting and I enjoyed it. I am glad I took this course.
Like you say, the processing and the proctor is what takes more time, but following your advise, I explained to them and they tried and rushed it. I had to follow up very closely though (calling and emailing). They were very fast in grading my proctored exam and then sending my final transcript to EC. Overall I found Penn Foster very helpful as well (took English Composition and this one, Financial Management). I liked their format for the courses and enjoyed their material, found it very enriching.

I am enjoying not having anything pending to study! It feels GREAT! I have also updated my resume.hilarious
What is next? I am thinking in a MBA or an important certification to obtain some specialization, my degree is BS in General Business. I also have lots of credits, so I am thinking about getting a second degree... I feel kind of bad about all those courses I have and would like to get some kind of recognition, it was lot of effort! Nevertheless, I still have to think about all this, since I have to optimize time and resources, and the most important thing is positioning myself for growth.
Yes, PF includes a financial calculator with the Financial Management course. The text book is also very good material. I really liked the course and I would recommend it to anyone over studying for the DSST test.
There are somethings I would have done different to get more out of my studies and to save time, but like they say in Spanish "If you don't know is just as if you don't see." If I had not found this forum, I would have probably spent even more time and resources in getting my degree. Thanks God for IC and good luck to everybody!!

I just received a response back from the academic advisor for Excelsior College and was given the okay to take both Managerial Accounting and Financial Management at Penn Foster. I am undecided on taking Operations Management at Penn Foster or CSU-Pueblo.
In regards to Penn Foster, I noticed somebody saying the final is timed for Financial Management. Is the proctor the person who is timing it on paper exam, or is the exam on the computer?

Proctor is the person timing it and validating who you are. Final proctored exams for PF are paper based. Your proctor can be almost anyone that you decide on, but must have an associates degree at the minimum.
I was unaware there was an Ops Management course at PF that would satisfy the requirement, I would verify first with your advisor. The CSU-Pueblo course does not have a proctored final.
