Hello everyone,
Now that I have a moment to catch up, here's the feedback for last Friday's test. This is one of the easier exams, I'm told, and after taking it I would agree. IC and looking up some of the terms or people at Wikipedia will be plenty.
There were 8 to 9 questions that dealt with knowing the different philosphers/psychologists and what they were connected with, ie. behaviorism, humanism, psychoanalysis, etc. A couple of questions layed out a scenerio and then asked you to match which psychologist would most likely have been involved.
On the version I had, there were about 3 questions that dealt with the structures and functions of the human eye, ie. cornea, retina, cones, rods, etc. Which one is connected to the ability to see color? Which is involved with depth perception? And so on.
There were easily 7 or 8 questions that dealt with learning. Understand classical conditioning, operant conditioning, observational learning, cognitive process, etc. The four cognitive stages should be memorized.
Hope this is helpful,
Librevore

Just took the Intro to Psych CLEP and scored a 73 after studying for 5 days. It was my first CLEP and I had no prior knowledge of psychology.
I primarily studied InstantCert material and supplemented that with info from Wikipedia. The night before the test I bought REA's prep book for Psych and it really helped. The best way to describe it is that Instantcert info gives you all the facts, then the REA book took those facts and told a story with them that you could easily internalize. It wasn't that the REA book had a whole lot of additional information - it was just the format of putting it all together in "big picture" form. If I hadn't learned all of the InstantCert info prior to reading the REA book, it (the book) wouldn't have been nearly as helpful in that short of a time frame.
I am planning on taking several more CLEP exams in the near future and InstantCert will be my primary method of preparation.
If only you had college algebra!!!

great first score! sounds like you already have a study system down that works. that's half the battle. instantcert is a great tool.
i wish they had college algebra too. instantcert has become my security blanket. there's lots of study guides out there for algebra so we should be okay.

Thanks for everyone's support and encouragement - it's very motivational and friendly!
Currently CLEP prepping for Human Growth & Development which seems to be a natural extension of Psychology. That exam is coming up on 7/11.
As a side note, I need to brush on on Biology before I start an Anatomy & Physiology class this fall. Haven't taken Bio since HS  but I was an A student.
Any suggestions on a comprehensive refresher book/manual?

Hi crna2b. I used the flashcards on this site to pass the biology clep a few weeks ago. It seemed to cover all the basics and would probably be a fun way to review.

Hi All,
I will be taking Intro to Psychology and Business Law II tomorrow morning. I know it's a bit of a strange brew, but I have been sick for the past couple of weeks and had to cancel my original Business Law II date.
Anyway, I just wanted to post a resource link that I found for Psychology.
Here's the main page:
http://allpsych.com/
Here's the main Intro to Psych page:
http://allpsych.com/psychology101/index.html
And here is a page that contains quizzes for each section:

I hope somebody will find the above links helpful,
