The question now is, who controls the Democrat party?  Does the media control them, or does the Democrat party control themselves? It's a power struggle.

Also, will donor pressure be the ultimate factor in deciding if Biden quits?

I take no joy in President Biden's bad days. However, I'd be lying if I didn't admit that I was having fun watching the Democratic Party family feud.

I sincerely hope that President Biden returns to full strength, and is allowed to remain the nominee.

Can you imagine the caterwauler if they try to strip him of his delegates.

How could that be Democratic? Rolleyes

I started to dig up some of the skeletons in the Democrat closet.

It turns out the last time there was a brokered convention was the 1952 DNC in Chicago.

Estes Kefauver arrived at the 1952 DNC in Chicago with a plurality of delegates. Then, Adlai Stevenson won the nomination.

Some quotes from the article:
Quote:Kefauver had started off the race by beating incumbent President Harry Truman in New Hampshire. This forced Truman to give up his hopes of winning a third term. The embarrassed president began calling the Kefauver “cow-fever” and plotting to deny him the nomination.

I don't think it's possible to force out Biden. The last time there was speculation the Democrat establishment would strip delegates was Bernie Sanders back in 2020.

Big Grin Thank you for that mention. I did'nt  even know Bigboy Restaurants were still operating.

I was astonished to see the Biden Campaign bill this as the "Big Boy" Press Conference."

I watched President Biden's Michigan Rally yesterday. He appeared to have good energy. I think his jab about President Trump riding around in his golf cart is going to be a recurring poke at his opponent.  I like it! I hope he's finding some joy in the campaign.

Now to pop some corn.  I'll sit back and enjoy watching the internecine malarkey.

I'm hoping we can get to the point where President Biden can retell the story of his bravery in standing up to the neighborhood warlord  "Corn Pop [a bad dude].

Yup, we still have Big Boy locally.  Although, I haven’t actually been to one since the 80’s or 90’s.  Maybe I should check them out in person soon.

First of all, I wish good health for our President.

So much has happened in just a few days.

I'm left wondering -Is Joe Biden still the presumptive nominee for the Democratic Party?

Factions within the Democratic Party were trying to remove him as the nominee up to the attempted assassination of President Trump.

It doesn't matter that I think him mealy-mouthed, he does appear to be putting in some effort to appear presidential.

Do you think party members will coalesce behind him? or will the different factions return to trying to insert their own more competitive candidate?

I'm also glad that President Trump is going to be OK. We cannot allow our country to devolve into that chaos.

Short answer, "Yes".

Longer answer, It's too late to change horses. Biden is a fundamentally good man and Kamala Harris is more than up to the job if Biden can't finish the term. The party will come to that realization fairly quickly. Don't know why you think him mealy-mouthed, I've always found him refreshingly plain spoken. Much more so than a lot of other politicians i've voted for over the years.

This whole foofoorah is just the Democratic Party being the usual factional mess it's always been.

I really want to like him. He was my senator when I was growing up. We will have to disagree as to whether he is a good man or not. I can never forgive him for his "High-tech lynching of Justice Thomas. Still, I wish him good health. He is my President.

The PredictIt odds for Biden being the Presidential nominee went from 40% back up to 70%. According to reports, Biden sent a memo telling everyone to back off, stating that he is staying in the race.

It would probably be better to let the people decide who they want in the next election, as they should. If, for some reason, Biden can't complete his next term, that's why we have a VP.
