Lawshelf???

Hi,


I was looking at the courses, and watching some videos at Lawshelf.
It looked to me that they had some interesting topics,
that are worth 3 credits.

I had 2 questions---

1--The courses are open book and looked very doable in a short time.
      Does anyone have any experiences in taking their courses?

2--Will Lawshelf courses transfer to Pierpont, UMPI, TESU, and WGU?

TESU, Excelsior, Purdue Global and SNHU (electives) take them. You can find the equivalencies on the Lawshelf page.

They're not ACE credits so fewer colleges accept them. They're NCCRS credits. I don't see them in UMPI's transfer database and haven't heard of anyone transferring them to UMPI. WGU is really picky about ACE credit and doesn't accept NCCRS credits, but they don't have general electives in their degrees anyway.

Depending on the degree and institution you're going for, it may be acceptable for upper level requirements at Exclesior, TESU, for their BALS or BSLA, it really does depend on how you want to use these voice proctored exams and if the classes are applicable to your degree transfer, etc, it's a very good option for the price, non-invasive proctoring, etc.

very good option for the price, and with voice proctoring.
Plus open book tests.

The courses they offer are very interesting,
if you like business, and especially Law!

Do you think UMPI would accept a few of their courses?

WGU doesn't accept NCCRS, UMPI doesn't either but it's a case by case basis... I don't think they will, but may have exceptions, such as if the class came from Study.com because they have a partnership...

There was 1 class from Study that was NCCRS that UMPI did accept. I am not sure if they are still accepting it as they have made so many changes to the communications course acceptance from alternative credit sources in the last 6 or so months. 

Good rule of thumb.....figure out which college you want to attend and what their acceptance policies are before taking courses anywhere. NCCRS have always been a challenge getting transferred as they not widely accepted. These courses would also be just plain old electives for most degrees if they were accepted anywhere. 

WGU will not accept NCCRS. UMPI has not accepted these courses in the past according to the transfer database which is up to date as of yesterday. Best bet is to stick to ACE credits unless you are already planning on attending a college who accepts NCCRS credits. And even then find out in advance if they accept these courses and which ones. Low cost isn't helpful unless it's transferable. It can be a huge waste of time too.
