I'm almost done with my courses at Metropolia UAS and am just waiting to get my grade for one course. Once that's done, I'm going to use a foreign credentials evaluator service to get my credits at TESU.
I wanted to know what you all think is the best evaluation service/company to be most likely to get the best evaluation possible? I think getting a 1:1 credit evaluation would be best just to have the 3 ECTS courses converted to 3 credits and because if they evaluate to too many credits, TESU may not accept the courses for credit without a syllabus (based on a post that I saw in the XAMK thread) and saw here that ACEI has issued some pretty favorable evaluations in the past with XAMK.
I also see people often recommend SpanTran and IEE (although TESU doesn't accept IEE) and to avoid WES and ECE if possible on the ENEB Master Thread.
I basically have these choices because I confirmed that Metropolia can send these transcripts directly to the evaluators, unlike XAMK. I'm leaning towards ACEI just because of what people have posted here, but please do let me know what would be the best option and if anyone has had any other experiences they'd like to share, provided that it's an evaluation service that TESU accepts.
Also, if I do choose ACEI and have Metropolia send the transcripts directly to them, I don't understand how to do the process. Would I have to complete the general application on ACEI's website and then have Metropolia send the documents or how would it work exactly?
Don't worry, I'll be sure to post the results of my evaluation as well so others can see what several courses evaluate to and how they may come in as credit for the TESU BACS. Thanks!

Metropolia UAS is a mainstream institute. Hence, WES or ECE should not have any unexpected issues.
My past experience with WES has been quite satisfactory. You can register with them, and they will provide the necessary instructions for sending Metropolia transcripts to them.
Another thing I noticed is that after WES evaluated my original transcripts, there is no need to send the same original transcripts to the university I am applying to anymore. Do check with ACEI to confirm if this is also the case.
Do some comparison shopping on TESU's website and find out which Evaluation Agency suits you more, I would also recommend searching for reviews on each of those you're interested in using... TESU has a list here of the ones they use here: https://iq3prod1.smartcatalogiq.com/en/c...fer-credit

I decided that I would use ACEI based on the research that I did and since I do have the option to use them. I'll probably use SpanTran in case I get unfavorable evaluations when appealing or they get troublesome to deal with, which I doubt based on the reviews and experiences everyone posted.
I'll contact ACEI to see the steps to submit in transcripts and apply since it is a little confusing on how they worded it on their website.
...and, today I just realized with an email from ACEI that Metropolia doesn't seem to sign or stamp official transcript of records. This is troublesome because there's no way to verify their legitimacy and ACEI wasn't accepting the transcript of records I uploaded (they required that I upload something to start the application). Here's what the transcript of record says at the bottom of it:
Quote:This document is automatically printed from the student administration system. Documents are not individually signed or stamped in Metropolia UAS.
More information studentservices@metropolia.fi, switchboard, tel. 09 7424 5000.
I emailed them back to see if they would accept the transcript of records as official if I had Metropolia send them directly and ACEI simply said to have them email them the transcript of records directly to their email. I already sent an email to Metropolia to send the official transcript of records directly to ACEI's email and I will see if they still accept the transcript of records as official and if they're willing to evaluate it, even without a stamp or signature.
It's quite weird that Metropolia wouldn't sign or stamp the official transcript of records to have some way of indicating that it's official and be verified, but I hope that having them send the transcript of records directly to ACEI works.

I should clarify that Metropolia sent over the official transcript of records to ACEI a few days ago and ACEI confirmed to me that they received the official transcript of records from them that same day. ACEI also hasn't complained about the transcript being unofficial or anything, so I will assume that they're evaluating it right now. I'll update with another thread once I get my evaluation.
Hello mariobros1985, I was looking at Metropolia University to do an Open course path to get a bachelor degree in IT at the end.
I would like to ask you about the transcripts of records you are talking about if you don't mind
At a certain point, during my studies, I would like to apply for some intern positions (I don't have any work experience in IT yet), and I can see on some job adverts that they request a transcripts of records if you haven't completed your studies yet - I was wondering whether the transcripts you received from Metropolia just states the subjects and grades of the courses that you've taken?
Were the courses that you took classified as "Open courses"? I yes, did they mentioned that on the transcripts as well?

Hello Tyler,
I've attached my (censored) Metropolia UAS official transcript of records so you can see how it looks like. Basically, on the censored part, it will show your full name that you provide to Metropolia along with the date of birth and student number. You can see that the transcript of records does show me being in the Open University of Applied Science and the courses state the name, amount of credits, assigned grade and the date each course was marked complete in the system.
Now that I think about it, there were very few graded Nonstop courses and almost all of them were basically the equivalent to Pass/Fail, also known as Credit/No Credit.
ACEI has been pretty consistent at 2 ECTS to 1 US credit lately. I’m curious on whether they will apply a different calculation for Metropolia.
