Accepted into Georgia Tech's Online MSCS program
#1
Hey everyone, I can't express enough how grateful I am for this forum community. It's been just over a year since I joined this forum (back in February 2022), and what a difference it's made to my life. From being a college dropout to now holding two bachelor's degrees from different universities to being accepted into the Georgia Tech Online MSCS program - it's been a wild ride.

It might sound cliché, but I truly mean it when I say I couldn't have done any of this without the support and insights from all of you. Being able to explore topics that truly arouse my interest is beyond exciting to me. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to each and every one of you!

@frankc, congrats! Awesome job! We pointed you in the direction you wanted to go to, it was all you - doing all that hard work on the classes needed to transfer in. Just curious if you applied anywhere else besides GT... I know they're a popular choice for the name and price... Did you have a back up option just in case though?

Thank you bjcheung77! I also looked into similar programs at UIUC, UT Austin, CU Boulder, ASU, and UPenn's MCIT. However, I chose to apply only to Georgia Tech because their courses interested me the most. I don't necessarily need a graduate degree because I'm already in the field. For me, it's either Georgia Tech or nothing.

Hey nice! I got accepted a few days ago too, to the same program, OMSCS. I'll be registering for the Spring semester. I did my online bachelors at Purdue and transferred more than half the credits from the resources I found here! Maybe I'll see you at the program buddy, I've read that it is very intense and difficult.

Welcome to GT! OMSCS has a strong contingent of TESU and WGU graduates. It is the only truly at-scale platform to date

Just to clarify, because it comes up a lot, how many of your (computer science) courses were ACE and how many were from a Community College or the like? For @frankc, I think most/all of your CS classes came from Study.com?

Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)

You are absolutely right, most of my CS classes came from ACE/study.com. I only took two non-ACE CS courses from Excelsior University (Python and OOP Java).
