French 1 just dropped on Sophia today!

Touchstone 1.1: Composition: Bonjour, je m’appelle... / Hello, My Name Is... (50 points): Students will write a short composition in French in which they will use the vocabulary and skills they learned in Unit 1 to make an introduction and share some basic information about themselves and about a friend.

Touchstone 1.2: Oral: Bonjour, je m’appelle... / Hello, My Name Is... (50 points): Students will create a video submission of themselves speaking in French, using the feedback that they received for the written Touchstone 1.1. The topic is the same, but it will be delivered orally for this assignment.

Touchstone 2: Composition: Ma famille / My Family (100 points): Students will write a composition in French where they will describe their home and the members of their family using grammatical structures and vocabulary studied in both Unit 2 and Unit 1.

Touchstone 3.1: Oral: Mes passe-temps et mes préférences / My Pastimes and Preferences (100 points): Students will create a video submission of themselves speaking in French. This time, students will use the vocabulary and skills they learned in Unit 3 to talk about the hobbies and activities they like to do, their favorite season, and any future plans they have.

Touchstone 3.2: Composition: Mes passe-temps et mes préférences / My Pastimes and Preferences (100 points): Students will write a composition in French, using the feedback that they received for the oral Touchstone 3.1. The topic is the same, but it will be delivered in writing for this assignment.

I have tried out the French course. I have enjoyed it so far even though I have had almost zero prior exposition to the language. I wish to priorize the teceps I signed up for but maybe in a few months I'd like to finish this course. I hope they offer a German one sometime. I could finish that one pretty quickly.

German is possible with CLEP, or if you prefer to get more credits, ACTFL... I think they may have extended or renewed their ACE, but make sure before you take the ACTFL.

Can't do CLEPs abroad unfortunately. So far the ACTFL has not been renewed on the ACE or I would be doing that Spanish exam I already purchased immediately. I am still waiting for the translation and evaluation of an elementary German course I took last year. Even if the course is evaluated favorably, I might give the actfl a shot. I'd also like to do it for Japanese.
