Thank you to all who have shared information on degree planning. I gleaned so much helpful information through this forum! I'm very excited to share that I applied for graduation for a TESU BA History last week. Smile Although I was required to pay the out-of-state tuition waiver, it was ultimately less expensive (about $500) to creatively piece together the required credits instead of taking the 16 credits from TESU. More importantly, I saved so much time.

In case it may be of use to other students, here's my (brief) journey. I started my quest for BA degree completion with 21 credits in January 2021. I had already earned 15 credits from traditional classroom learning + 6 CLEP (College Composition). I completed the TESU Capstone on 12/18/2022! The required credits for the TESU History BA were fulfilled through a wide variety of sources. I used courses from Study.com, the University of Arkansas self-paced, Olivet Nazarene YourWay, CLEP exams (paid for by ModernStates.org), and TESU (required Capstone and SOS-110).  My degree evaluation states that 9 different institutions/organizations were sourced for credits. I could not have done this without the information shared on this group.

The U of A self-paced courses were a great deal. They worked out to be $495 course (3 credits) + book cost. They have a variety of courses available, including the upper-level courses in history that I needed.

Hiii congratulations that is so exciting that you are done!
I do have a question for you, when you use study.com, do the credits transfer to TESU or do you have to take an additional test at TESU to earn the credit?

Exactly the same as Sophia, Coopersmith, Davar, OnlineDegree, etc. The credits only require evaluation in order to be accepted. It's more or less the same as how credits from another college or university work, just slightly different in implementation.

Thank you!
All of the alternative credits were transferred without additional testing. However, some of the CLEP credits were accepted under "TESU Assessment Credit." (The specific exams were Analysis and Interpreting Literature and American Literature. They were still worth 6 credits per exam.
