Hello all. I just logged in early to UMPI Your Pace to my schedule (starting 3.14), and for each of the two classes, it has a button that says Textbook Link, which goes to another page that shows the cost of renting or buying - though there is an area of small print there saying complimentary 7 day access to online version (at least for one class, though for the other class textbook it didn't have that option.)
I had thought that there were no textbook fees in this program, from the website.
perhaps this is just due to logging in early and not being in the "module"?
I think it's probably just a kind of a placeholder and you're currently (partially) listed as being in the regular UMPI program. The one that does use the textbook. I would guess that they do that so that you don't access the course material ahead of time.
In progress: TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA
Completed: Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210
I've never seen this before. Oh you're not on YourPace. You're on ecampus which is the bookstore for UMPI. BUS200 is taught on campus. There aren't any textbooks for YourPace. YourPace contains all of the course content. You can't access the YourPace classes yet. You'll get access the first day of the next session. You also don't have a true schedule for YourPace. You'll connect to YourPace on MyCampus. There will be an icon on the left side a few boxes below MaineStreet. It sounds like you're looking at the schedule in MainStreet.

Hello, I am faced with a similar dilemma and I wonder what it was all about.
Ignore the Mainestreet schedule. The only thing you need is the UMaine website and the YourPace button. There are no textbook costs. Many YourPace classes share the same names and professors as on-campus. However, on-campus students need the textbooks. Online YourPace students do not. Campus students taking online classes will need it. As long as you're enrolled in YourPace, the textbooks are free and in the modules itself.

Hello, I am faced with a similar dilemma and I wonder what it was all about.
I figured out what and how, although it took me quite a while to figure it out. I was able to find my textbooks in YourPace, but I wish I could have found the books I needed for the assignment in the library. Was looking for The Things They Carried to mention in the essay but it wasn't available, found a couple finished papers on https://freebooksummary.com/category/the-things-they-carried-essays because buying the book myself wasn't an option. And in the electronic or abridged version could not find it.
There aren't any textbooks for YourPace students. Your reading material is in the course content. No outside books are needed. There aren't assignments that need outside books. Peer reviewed journal articles are required for most classes. I'm not aware of any that accepted anything else. I was in the business department so maybe another department is a bit different.
For the library, you need to access the digital databases. EBSCO and ProQuest are the two suggested by the librarian. These are often used by other schools as well. Make sure you're using the peer reviewed scholarly journals for your sources. Books won't cut it for some professors.
If you login to MaineStreet, Google Scholar operates differently and you'll be able to read way more articles. Click on the blue box that says FIND ARTICLES. A dropdown menu appears and if you click on Databases another tab will open with a list of databases you can access through UMPI's library.
