Hello!
I've been thinking about taking classes at UMPI. The $1400/term price is just too good an offer to pass up!
For some context, I graduated with a dual degree from a B&M school. I have 105 credit hours that can be transferred (more than I can transfer in). Plus, I have quite a few AP and IB test credits under my belt.
I'm interested in doing the History & Political Science BA degree. The degree shouldn't give me much trouble based on the information I've seen. Also, I just really like history lol.
I had that plan solidified in my head for a bit, but I also started thinking about UMPI's other offerings. I'm also interested in the Criminal Justice BA. Would it be possible to get both as a dual degree (working on both at the same time)?

It's a bit confusing as we incorrectly use dual major, dual degree interchangeably. Anyways, what was your previous degrees in? You're trying to complete the two YourPace programs together? You can do that in one degree by making a second major out of the second degree - if they permit this, I've seen people with a double major for the BABA YourPace, the BA should technically be the same.
There's no fee in applying, just cost of transcripts, I would apply and email your advisor to verify they allow this option. Just for reference, You may want to take a look at this thread, even though the thread isn't really for UMPI, the institution was mentioned a few times and the dual degree was referenced and explained as well: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...-BA-policy

I would think a double major (BA with two majors) is fine, but you'll have to apply to find out.

Completing two degrees at that same time? It depends. It depends on which degrees? You cannot complete the BLS with any other degree. You must first graduate with your BLS then reapply and complete the second degree. If you want to complete 2 degrees at the same time then you need to talk to your academic advisor about it. You can still only transfer in 90 credits total.

If you already have a bachelor's degree, then you don't need to worry about the GEC or Free Electives; instead, you only need to look at the courses required for the major: 48cr for History or 45cr for CJ. Then, you need to figure out where to get any credits you can easily/cheaply via alt-credit unless you already have that credit with transfers.
Then, apply, and see what they say - worst cast, you do one degree first, and then the other one second - since there are no overlapping credits in the majors, it doesn't really matter if you can do both at the same time or not.

I am completing a dual degree (BABA project management and BA Accounting) First I applied for the BABA then once I got accepted I asked Jessica if I could add another major. She was kind enough to do that for me. If you have any questions you can PM me.

@ acethroughcollege Adding another major is not the same thing as another degree. I suspect that you'll be graduating with a (single) BABA in Project Management and Accounting (nothing wrong with that, just not two separate degrees). It has been made very clear here that for UMPI you must confer one degree, and then return for another. Although I don't know why you'd want to return for a BA Accounting is you already have a BABA in Accounting (a master's would probably be a better route if more accounting credits were needed for the CPA exam - for example).

UMPI has both a BABA with Accounting Concentration and a BA in Accounting. Two different options are available.
The only one you must confer first is the BLS.

So it is possible to graduate at the same time from UMPI with two different degrees? Just one of those two cannot be a BLS - is this what you're saying? I will be glad to have misunderstood this about about the YourPace UMPI program.

Yes. It is very confusing! And you can't complete the BLS as a second degree.
