Like that they're 100% upfront about the total tuition and no need to buy textbooks which cost 3 arms, 8 legs, and 12 kidneys.

I am really digging these degrees by ACE. I only found out about them from another forum member about a week ago.

Sustainability is one of the areas outside of my business degree interests that I would considering pursuing. I'm not familiar with ACE and I was a little bummed out when I googled them and found out they were a for profit school. Could anyone more familiar with them shed some light on their legitimacy?
I misread. Sorry.

Cheaper than most nonprofit I know of. I got this general info…. Master’s level classes run for 5 weeks total, with a one to two week break between the end of one class and the start of another, take one class at a time, so you can focus on one topic at a time. You are not required to write a final thesis in order to graduate from our program. Instead, all degree programs end with a Capstone embedded in an ePortfolio. You will be able to work on that portfolio gradually starting in your first course. A typical Master’s level class includes: · Reading assignments - all reading materials are available electronically. There are no textbooks to buy. Students will have several journal articles to read each week. · Lectures – Each session of your class is pre-recorded so you can watch lectures when it’s convenient for you. There is no required log in time. You can also download the word-for-word transcripts from the video lectures to supplement your notes. · Assignments – Students must complete one assignment each week. They are embedded in the course and allow you to apply the week’s topic to your current or past teaching experiences. Assignments are always due the following Sunday by 11:59pm (PT). · Peer Review – Some courses may include periodic peer-review assignments which have various due dates not found in a typical module (week). · Discussion Comments – Each week, students are required to post comments about a specified discussion topic and respond to other students’ comments. Students are expected to respond to one or two questions related to the readings or lectures of the week in an original post. A minimum of two replies to a classmates' post are also required. Initial discussion posts are typically 2-3 paragraphs in length, containing at least five sentences each. · Final exam – A 20-question, multiple choice final exam is typically due during week five. Exams must be completed within three hours from the time the test has been started.

I myself have looked at a particular program from them, the MEd STEM as that's my interests, not only that but it's their cheapest MEd as well. Further to that, for some reason if someone wanted an extra MEd in something else, they have half the degree for that second degree already completed I think, it's a Dual degree option... https://www.ace.edu/program/master-of-ed...-education

I have taken a class at ACE, and I suspect the professor I had was probably one of the same the teachers in the sustainability program. Honestly, the course was probably the best I have taken during grad school and made me the least miserable out of all the grad courses I have done. My favorite professor so far has been at a different school but this one was a close second. I just really liked that the professor was on top of things, easy to communicate with, grading was rather simple and there was no peer grading. If you're looking in a field that does not have any particular program accreditation needed or desired, I highly recommend ACE. Because they're Chia accredited to they should transfer to Walden. I wouldn't actually say there were books included, but rather books were just not required. All the reading pretty much linked out to peer reviewed articles/studies, something the teacher wrote, or videos that were created for the class. The enrollment process was super easy too and I had the whole thing done in a day.

@Vle045 @SweetSecret Thanks for sharing your knowledge of ACE! I guess I need do do some digging and will possibly revisit this one in the future.
Something that was interesting to me was the option to take classes as a student at large. You can take courses to transfer elsewhere. Or just for personal knowledge. It is a good option if you need to take a lot of breaks between terms and need to declare a program later
