I think I found what is missing to complete a Spanish Degree from these 2 schools....
http://catalog.shsu.edu/undergraduate/co...ions/span/
$800 per course
https://catalog.olivet.edu/content.php?c...courses366
$1200 per course
If you score high on ACTFL/CLEP, you will only need 3 classes to finish a Foreign Language Degree in Spanish Super FAST!
And due to this, we should create a post dedicated on finding those 3 class anywhere else...
What do you guys think?

Not a bad find! This isn't the usual "cheap" degree, by any means, but it does come up from time to time. Maybe the TESU Spanish degree deserves its own page now.

It should have its own.....
Because even though it wont be cheap, I think its the fastest to get due to the 45 possible credits through Clep (9) and ACTFL (36) Exams. Especially for native speakers.
My wife got 42 of possible 45 credits.

Oh wow, a Spanish degree, depending on the requirements from what is required and can be transferred in... if your wife has 42 of 45 credits needed, this final course can probably be done with BYU-Idaho. Read in Hispanic Lit Adv Speaker - SPAN 302 : https://www.byui.edu/online/course-list I would email academic advising and see if that can be used.

Actually all she needs is 2 Spanish Literature and 1 Spanish History.
What I meant is that she got 42 of 45 possible credit you can get through CLEP and ACTFL.
But we need to create a list of possible cheap Literature and History (Spanish Course).
If someone is not interested in Foreign Language Primary Bachelors, it could be the easiest 2nd Bachelors you can get as well.
And we are not even talking about the AAS BOGS from Peirpont. 6 sophias and these exam, and BINGO.

Just got an email confirming that Spanish 41 from Fresno City college (CA) will meet the literature requirement. GF is taking it online right now. In state tuition is $46/credit, I THINK out of state is $315/credit. I’m guessing there are others on the list that will meet other requirements, but haven’t emailed to confirm yet.

FYI: I just updated that page, as there was incorrect info
- Study.com does not have a 200-level Spanish course, Intermediate Spanish comes in as SPA-102 (so 2nd semester of Beginning Spanish)
- ACTFL LPT & RPT exams are 100-level only
There is no where to put what courses come in as at TESU, but I happen to know the course equivalencies for the RPT, WPT & OPI/OPIc exams

I think your main issue is going to be whether or not they allow you to take UL courses without the pre-reqs already done; I don't see where they say if you score high on the ACTFL, that they'll allow it.

Yeah that would be an issue in some schools... But most pre-requisite for Literature or History only require Intro Spa 1 and 2 and Intermediate which you can get with the CLEP alone. My wife and a few other people I know will spearhead this journey and I will report it.

The “trick” I’ve seen with skipping prerequisites is to talk to the counselor or department head. It slows down the process of getting into a class a touch, but can speed it up overall. Idk about all schools, but the community colleges out here have a generic “take prerequisite or prove efficiency” type policy, leaving a lot of discretion to the counselor. A lot of times it’s just an interview for them to assess you’re knowledge. ACTFL may not have any official weight, but may help with the interview/discussion with the counselor. Once you get in one and pass, you can use that as proof of ability going forward. If you can get into an EOPS or some other program like that geared towards low income or first generation students, I’ve seen how those counselors tend to try to be more helpful for stuff like this.
