Spanish I now on Sophia

I flew through the material in a couple days, wrote two of the touchstones already. Im having a hell of a a time with the oral touchstones though, anybody have some pointers on those?

I would practice each sentence one at a time until I mastered the words that I didn’t know how to pronounce. I used DeepL.com and Google translate for pronunciation help. I did refer to my writing some in my oral videos as I couldn’t totally memorize it, especially the last one that is a 2-4 minute!

So you did use a bit of your writing to get though the video? See I was wondering if they would count that against me or not? In the rubric they say not to read it word for word.

I definitely did, especially for the 3.1 Touchstone! I didnt just read it, but I did place it level with my camera when I was recording so I could refer to it. I also recorded my video several times to get the best one. As I practiced and re recorded my videos, I actually did memorize it better and became more fluent. I got a 92/100 on the 3.1 oral even occasionally using my writing sample : I went into the course praying for a 70% and I actually ended up getting a final grade of 88%......

Thank you for the information here.  I completed spanish via Sophia, sent it to UMPI in mid-july, and now am seeing it on the transfer credit area in the PDF of degree progress.

Spanish I is in UMPI's database. It will meet the 5C requirement.

Yes it does. I have transferred it to UMPI and have received credit for the foreign language GEC area.

Congrats on getting this transferred over to UMPI! Hope the remaining courses for you before you start will be fully transferred in as well... you're starting in a couple weeks right? 8/29?

Thank you! I completed 11 courses on Sophia and 3 on Study. All transferred and UMPI had added all of the credits to my Transfer credit report. I’m at 95.5 credits and have 10 courses to complete at UMPI to obtain my degree
