Personally, I think that's good advice. The single most neglected form of stress management and mood enhancement is exercise. Americans, in general, are terrible at this and they are rather ignorant about the effects of this on their physical and mental health.

I love working out, but it's so time-consuming and exhausting. It's a pretty heavy investment.

Yes, it all depends, you don't have to do the extremely lengthy or strenuous exercises, I would do a few minutes a day.
As I mentioned above, eat healthy, exercise, relax... repeat... You can do 15 minute exercises and do that 3 times/day.
