Hello everyone!
I have completed my Pierpont AAS: Information Systems and would like to start working on a plan for a bachelor's, I was looking at the UMPI option for a BAS, and I would like to do a Computer Science degree if possible.
I have a couple of questions:
Is UMPI the quickest/cheapest option from AAS -> BA?
How does UMPI work with the BAS degree, can I major in Computer Science?
Thank you!

You may not be eligible for the BAS at UMPI with your AAS from Pierpont. You would definitely be able to complete the BLS. Computer Science not available from UMPI at this time unless you study on campus. You don't need an associate degree to get into UMPI. I'd focus on the 90 ACE transfer credits for the UMPi degree. You can have a minor MIS and/or project management at UMPI.

If I recall you're active military correct? If so then TESU for a BA CS is likely your best best. Everyone is going to want to know what courses/credits you have - see this post (pay special attention to #2 and #4) -

Did I miss something?
I thought the BAS just needed an AAS to qualify?

No. The BAS requires 40 credits in the AAS which are technical credits. UMPI is very picky about what counts. Several students have been denied admission to the BAS and had to go the BLS route instead.

If you have 40 credits in IS/CS/IT before you apply at UMPI you should be fine to go for a BAS-MIS (since you have the AAS) - this again is why I posted you should share your credit list. Even if you were short a few credits in IS/CS/IT they should be easy (and cheap) to obtain prior to you applying as UMPI. Generally speaking, if you list your credits we can provide you with a recommendation on where you are and the best path option(s) to get where you want to be (which is have a bachelor)

UMPI doesn't have a computer science degree yet for the Yourpace program, it may be in the works and will take a longer time than you would like. I would just get the BAS-MIS concentration and in the 60 elective credits, select ones from Saylor.org, Sophia.org, Study.com that will transfer in and you're interested in... I'm referring to their computer science, IS/IT courses, some (not all) will transfer. You can also take a look at the Coursera/IBM, certificates that have ACE credit recommendations...

That sounds like it's probably the way to go, Thanks!
