The program is scheduled to start in July 2022. More info here: https://www.wgu.edu/lp/msl-det/mslxdet-campaign.html

That's why I think I'm going to stick with going for an MBA. The last thing I want to do is explain what my master's means every time I mention it. lol

Has anyone chosen this path? I'm currently shopping Master's Degrees and Instructional Design (for Adult Learning, not K-12) is one that I'm considering. I'm also looking at the MSML Master's that WGU offers.

I am also considering not doing a Master's degree at all because I hate writing academic papers. I'm in the midst of an ADHD diagnosis and wondering if medication to help that may end up making me less averse to this. I'm a fine writer, but it's the multiple steps and lengthiness of the long academic paper writing that really just makes me not at all motivated or interested in attempting a Master's degree at all.  Confused

I'm scheduled to begin this degree on April 1st. If WGU gets to processing my transcripts and FAFSA I'll be starting then. They're reallllllly slllllooooow at processing these items.

@WHOASIS1, I know at least one member of the board that did the MS Education/Learning degree before the change/merge of the two programs. There are a few members who completed the MBA and/or MSML as well, it really depends on what you want to do in the future, if it's more into teaching, then this degree would be ideal. Having said that, if you're looking into a more Business oriented, the MSML or MBA would be recommended. At this point in time, focus on your TESU BALS first and when you're done, apply to WGU.

This degree applies to much more than teaching. It also works for people who want to get into training.

I read a lot about this program shortly after it debuted. There were a number of posts on Reddit with people complaining about the program. What I found really telling were comments by people with WGU undergrad degrees who had been able to accelerate those degrees but were going to need multiple terms (like 3+ or 4+).. I am really hopeful that things have changed and kinks have been worked out.

That's right, the person who took the WGU program before it merged wasn't a teacher either, they just wanted to go into corporate training or something similar to that. It's all what the student wants and if the program provides them that opportunity...
