WGU Partners with McDonald’s and Amazon
#1
Just got this email:

Quote:I’m pleased to announce WGU’s recent partnership with Amazon and McDonald’s—two of the largest employers in the country—to bring education benefits to their workforces. Eligible employees are now able to earn a WGU degree at little to no cost through the Amazon Career Choice and McDonald’s Archways to Opportunity programs. Those who are already WGU students benefit as well—eligible employees will have their tuition costs covered for future terms.*

As a WGU grad, you understand what an exciting opportunity this is for so many—help us get the word out! Please share the news with those you know who are currently working for or considering working for these companies to see if they are eligible.

You can learn about qualifications and next steps by visiting wgu.edu/mcdonalds and wgu.edu/amazon.

Best regards,

Spencer Stewart
Vice President, WGU Partnerships

*Costs for WGU tuition and learning resource fees billed by the university will be covered by federal financial aid (if applicable), Archways to Opportunity tuition assistance (for eligible restaurant employees working for organizations participating in the McDonald’s Archways to Opportunity program), WGU tuition discounts, and WGU scholarships.

I wish they had stuff like this when I was a teen working at McDonald’s. That was a super crappy job. It might have made it a bit more bearable. I worked for a measly $3.85 an hour to get yelled at by nutjobs.

You worked at the wrong McDonald's! I loved my high school job at Mickey D's. On weekends I was the one who hosted birthday parties. That was a TON of fun! I loved doing that. I also worked in a mall and malls were uber popular back then. That was where all the cool people were on a Friday night.

I would have hated doing birthday parties.   I worked at one of the busiest locations.   I left that hell hole for the movie theatre.  Now THAT was a fun job.  Free movies for me and two friends, free popcorn, free drinks.  And not much to do in between movies.
