Hi everyone,
Excited to get everyone's feedback on this. I am planning on going into WGU's IT Management BS program, my main career goal is to be a Project Manager in tech, I am already approved to take the PMP test, I have many years of work experience (15+). I decided to go back to school and I have been feeling like I am getting a lot of rejections from big companies because I don't have a degree. I wanted to do the Comp Sci degree but fear it might be too difficult, so I am planning on the IT Management. I had zero credits, and have already completed 12 Sophia courses, on my last one now, English Comp 2.
Just started the batch of classes on Study.com, a lot of which I got from Josh Madakor's BS ITM - Study.com Degree Guide.
Here is my current degree plan.
My goals are:
-Graduate as fast as possible. This has me wondering whether I should keep doing study.com or go straight to WGU? The Study classes seem really lengthy.
-Graduate WGU on 1 term. This is mostly for financial reasons and speed. I need to check if I qualify for any scholarships.
I am planning on starting WGU maybe next March if I can keep up with this current plan, so I don't think I can apply for any financial aid until then.
Would love to get everyone's input. Thank you very much.

Do you think you could CLEP out of anything? Management and Marketing are 2 good CLEP options, they're 2 of the easiest ones.
SDC's Critical Thinking course is probably going to be too much work, I'd skip that one and do something else.

Hey there!! I haven't considered CLEP'ing for any of these, but I actually have 10 years of Management and Marketing experience so I could look into those! Thank you for the suggestions.
I am working on SDC's critical thinking course right now, my first SDC course as I get used to the platform, and I must admit it's dragging a bit. I think I will skip it like you suggested. I also see the course has some writing assignments, which may make it lengthier for me. I am already stuck on Sophia's English Comp 2 because the grading is taking forever and don't want to be held down by more writing assignments.

If you can stick to courses which don't require writing, I think you'll be better off.

Thank you very much! Is there a way to find out which ones have writing assignments quickly? Sorry, new to SDC and still getting used to the platform.

Thank you so much for sharing that degree plan! I am unfortunately halfway through the Sophia course, with half my papers turned in, otherwise I would switch to Study.com for it.

I would suggest doing Business 120: International Business. That should be pretty easy for you.
Start with no assignment courses. Remember you get 3 tries on each quiz. Be sure to get close to a 100% score on the quizzes so that you need less on the final to pass the course.

I second this suggestion of skipping SDC's critical thinking course. Mulitple writing assignments aren't worth it when you can knock out the whole class at WGU(I took it in a single day through WGU).
