I think this 800 number might automatically ring into a different office depending on which region of the US you are calling from. When I called the number from California, it was answered by a rep covering the state of CA. I asked if I was speaking to the right person, and he told me that if I was calling from California then he was the right guy.

I am taking the ENG100 Comp class with Penn Foster now, I have 2 more essays to complete and I am complete.
The course is not to bad, but you are given only Pass or Fail credit with EC, I am not sure what TESC will give you for it though?
But the number shot gave is the right one, and it was easy to sign up for it.
It really is a pretty decent class and you can submit assignments online or mail it in. I lack any motivation beyond just getting a passing grade on it, since it is P/F only.

Has anyone taken classes at Clovis Community Colleges? I'd love to hear anyone's experience with their online classes.
From what their website says, you can take up to 6 credit hours for $113 plus an additional $50 per course (technology fee or something goofy like that). So, for $213 plus books you could take 2 classes. I looked at their online bookstore and it looks like books are available used but it first come first served, etc. I googled the textbooks for the classes I was considering and I could get all the books for 2 classes for less than $135.
I am looking at them as a possibility for the TESC Business Communications requirement. Also, I was thinking maybe their Small Business Mgmt class to meet an Area of Study requirement in the TESC Business program.
Any thoughts? Any comparisons between Clovis and Penn Foster?
Thanks,
Kelly

How soon could you finish this course if you were really determined? Is 1 week possible? How big is the textbook?
I'm not interested in this particular course, but I just want to get an idea of how long a Penn Foster course is.

You can finish this course pretty quick, it is up to you really.
I just got done submitting 2 essays and my final consists of a 5 paragraph persuasive essay on public smoking ban Pro or Con.
You can finish this class in a week if you are good at writing essays.
The work book is only 122 pages, it just lists how many essays and what you will be graded on.
Fairly simple, I do not have a proctored exam, like some of the other PFC courses do.
This is the only class I have taken with PFC.
They do not have MIn Time limit, only that you have 9 months to finish it.

Your final exam will be proctored unless you take a course that has projects with a Final Project.
for example bat21 took an English COMP course and her projects were written essays. I have taken a programming course, VB.Net, that just had projects and no proctored final. During my VB course I also had section exams that could be submitted online with a project also for each section then the final project.
