Anyone use CodeNinja's?
#1
Hey, I was looking up some sites for "coding" for the kids and came across CodeNinja.  It's similar to those "Kumon/Eye Level" tutoring places where you need to go on-site and immerse in coding camps.  Just wondering if these are recommended over the "freebies" out there, or the cheaper options.  I am thinking having an instructor would be better than self learning for the kids...

I can always get them one of those Kano or other Code or learning hardware such as a Pi and have them learn on them.  Decisions, decisions... I think they may have been bought out last year or some company named Eagle Merchant Partners acquired a chunk of the company:  Link 1: Eagle Merchant Partners acquires equity stake in Code Ninjas | S&P Global Market Intelligence (spglobal.com)  Link 2: Coding For Kids: We Make Coding Fun | Code Ninjas

Mine did use CN for a couple of months. It was OK. They start off using Scratch (free) but are given a project to do. There are instructors (usually teens) that can help. It was kind of expensive (I have twins) each month. I looked through the program schedule and going 2x/week (which increased the already expensive price) it would take 6 months before they would advance to the next level. I love the concept and had high hopes but I just couldn't see paying that price for 6 months for something that is free (Scratch). It could still work for others I'm sure.
