We refer to it as "credit laundering" which is trying to have a college that doesn't take ACE take it anyway, since it's on a college transcript elsewhere. TESU's transcript will show that the courses are NOT taken at TESU - they are transfer credits; they also show what types of credit it is (so on mine, I have TESU-ACE, TESU-DSST, TESU-CLEP, TESU-NCCRS).
I think you are right. STC honored gam's transcript with ACE credits on it because TESU is an accredited school. But that's it, it is merely an "acknowledgement receipt" and ACE credits listed on TESU transcript won't transfer to STC...
STC takes CLEPs, but I would imagine that one needs to send CLEP credits directly from College Board.

STC told me that I only had to send my TESU transcript for TSI exemption, but they would require original transcripts for transfer credits. Of course, I'm not interested in transferring.

Makes sense.
Are you taking classes with them now? If so - how do you like it so far?

Im an enrolled student from STC and I skipped from the TSI once I send a some RA courses you can skipped the this requirement. I self study the CBE courses the other normal courses you have to attend live meetings classes.
Most of those mini courses also are coming as CBE option, depending of the type of mayor you choose.
Remember you have to minimum score 80% for CBE to pass an exam and you need to take almost all of them are proctored.

I've moved this thread to the free courses section.
When does South Texas College send you login information, etc.? I got an email referencing my ID# and asking for "missing information" like the TSI exam. This email's wording kind of implies that I should have gotten a welcome email, but I even checked spam and I don't have that.

I followed up with them via their live chat (but turns out they were office line when I sent the question) asking if I still had to send in my high school transcript when I've sent them my college transcript. They replied back via email and provided my login information.
I had a chat with the advising team but since I was interested in some of their classes offered in their bachelor's program, I was told I needed to contact someone else (I can't remember exactly who right now) but the advisor that I did speak with told me to check with admissions to check on the status of my evaluation.
Followed up with admissions and was told my transcript was received and would be evaluated in the order that it was received.
I did try to register for some classes prior to talking with an advisor but the system prevented me. So I guess I'll wait...

Followed up with the coordinator of enrollment services since a week had passed, so I could plan out when to contact advising again. This was the reply I got
Quote:As they volume of incoming transcripts is not steady, we are unable to estimate completion of transcripts. At this point in the semester, it may take up to 3 weeks.

I applied and sent in my transcripts over 3 weeks ago. They haven't responded to my emails at all. What is the email for enrollment services? All I see is the one for admissions.

So the first email is from the reply from the admissions chat (when they weren't open) - registration@southtexascollege.edu
and they confirmed when they received my transcripts and the date, the coordinator of enrollment services (Hector Cerda) who informed me that it might take over 3 weeks is hcerda1@southtexascollege.edu.
Granted my transcripts were received over 2 weeks ago (almost 3 weeks), so I'm assuming it might take an additional 3 weeks from the point of when I received the reply if I don't see an update next week.
