I agree. If you can get into UT, Georgia tech, or Illinois definitely do that. If you think you may not be able to excel in one of those then this may be the next best thing. Or a viable option anyways.

When I was looking into the UPenn MCIT a while back I saw that they do have a full MS CS program too. It's my understanding MCIT gets you undergraduate level CS knowledge and some graduate level knowledge, making it an efficient grad option for non CS people looking to transition, rather than going back for another CS undergrad. I believe I read that UPenn does also offer a path to get a full MSCS after getting the MCIT if they want to later down the road.

This listing is for bachelors but I’d say completing a masters is at least the same.

Those higher end salaries are what many of my friends in the field make with just local state school educations. I'm surprised at how "low" they are for Ivy league.
And I say "low" because obviously these are fantastic salaries in general. They just don't seem to be that exceptional for an Ivy League grad in this field.

The Extension program is wonderful, but on the graduate level, Harvard won't accept additional credits into the program from outside schools. I also don't know if Harvard Extension School is the best place for an IT/CS based degree. Harvard isn't generally known for tech, but is known for humanities. For that reason, I would recommend Harvard Extension School for a humanities based degree. My English graduate degree should cost me 25k in total and I'm already working in EdTech. It can open doors, but I do love the Penn program. Penn does offer an undergrad program online as well, but the price is close to 70-100k (bachelors level) to go that route as opposed to the MCIT (a graduate level degree).

We all know that there aren't a lot of online degree programs at Ivy League universities. There are a bunch at Columbia, however, tucked away in the Dept. of Education (Teacher's College). I didn't dig through the costs but they're probably pretty high and so we'll get the normal requisite comments of "I'd never pay that much for an MEd...etc." Regardless of that, these online degree programs have been around for quite a while, so somebody is buying them.

The tuition rate for 2020-2021 (Fall 2020, Spring 2021, and Summer 2021) is estimated at $1,768 per credit hour. The college fee for Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 has been reduced from $478 to $239 per semester. This fee cannot be waived.

The Harvard extension school has been around for over a hundred years. It’s for non traditional students. The courses are taught by the same Harvard professors and faculty. $25k for a masters is a good price.
