When I received the email last night I instantly thought that this would be more hoops to jump through. As it turns out I was right. Good thing I enrolled in June Smile . 2 additional courses for new bacs students.

Am seriously considering switching to the new catalog. Aside from the currently-confusing "Social Sciences" requirement, the new catalog does seem to be an improvement.

Have you compared the "now" requirements with the credits you currently have and the "new" ones? Someone mentioned the old catalog had better use of their credits and the newer catalog dropped some of their credits off to the other field. Have you checked yours?

I haven't checked the updated degree requirements yet. I don't think the updates would have changed too much for current students, it seems better for 'new' students too. Is it me or is that what I am led to believe... someone should do a comparison! haha, not me...

Yep. Aside from the ambiguous Social Sciences requirements, I'm either the same or better off under the new catalog (depends on the degree).

From what I can tell, if you're going for a BA or a BSBA, you'll probably benefit from the new catalog. If you're getting a BS, I have no idea. I haven't checked those because you can't test out of them (for the most part).

Just rolled the dice and emailed advising about the Social Sciences requirement. Fingers crossed that they get back to me with something useful!

ASBA: 42 credits applied vs. 48 credits for 2022
ASNSM Math 42 vs. 48 credits for 2022.

That's great, I guess for those who are getting "better" results, you can switch it to the 2022 degree plan. For those who are getting a different outcome, you may want to review what changes have been made - example, if you are on the 2017 or 2018 catalog you may not have to do the SOS-110, the new one you will.

You just need to tell them to "exempt" that course when it comes over to the new catalog, there may be other courses that need to be "manually moved" from the other field to the respective fields that's missing. I suggest those who are getting a less desirable outcome to create a thread so we can see what may have changed and see if we can do anything about those courses or requirements...

All of my evaluations list the same number of remaining required credits under the old and new catalogs using the "what-if" tool. The free and general electives were simply combined, with some other things moved around as well.

I think that most people will experience no net change or a mild benefit from the new catalog. The new elective flexibility may be beneficial in some circumstances.

Where can I find the "what-if" tool; I am not enrolled with TESU.

Conferred AUG 2023 - AAS BOG, Business AoE, Pierpoint Community & Technical College

118 total RA & Alt credits from ONU, ASU, ACE (Aleks, SDC, SL, Sophia)

Applied in JAN 2024 to UMPI for MAR 2024 term (pending) | BA in HIS & POL SCI

You can't access it if you are not enrolled with TESU. It's intended to be for students to see where their credits would go if they were to switch to a different degree or add another degree into their degree plan. If you're curious about a specific degree, I can check out the new requirements and share them here.
