Degree Plan for WGU Software Development?

Hello everyone, I've been poking around the site looking for any advice or completed degree plans for WGU's Software Development degree, but haven't found anything yet. I'm currently enrolled in a traditional brick and mortar university (unrelated major), but want to get a SD degree as well. Here's what I have in my ACE transcript that isn't being used in my current uni:

In the General Transfer Guidelines, it says:

PRE-REQUISITE ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL BACHELOR’S I.T. PROGRAMS

• High-level IT coursework determined active by vendor: 
  • Two or more upper-level Networking courses; or 
    
  • Two or more upper-level Object-Oriented Programming courses (Java, C#, etc.); or 
    
  • One or more upper-level Operating Systems course; or 
    
  • One or more upper-level Information Security and Assurance Courses. 
    

I'm guessing this is met by some of the Study.com/Straighterline courses?

I see a lot of people recommending the Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) certifications

find ones that are accepted for credit in the "general transfer guidelines" and take a couple of them
but you have to do them quickly
I think Microsoft is stopping them in 3 or 4 months
but the MTA exams are really basic level -- so it shouldn't be difficult

there's also this which WGU accepts for credit -- its pretty simple -- I started it but it was too boring for me to finish

Wow thanks!   I just have two more questions, but you don't have to answer them, because you've already helped me out so much. 

1. Is there a limit to the amount of Straighterline credits I can transfer? And what is WGU's limit on credit transfers in general?

2. I ran by the Straighterline and Study.com equivalent courses, but found 10 courses that are not fulfilled by either of them. Perhaps they can be fulfilled elsewhere?:

Two things. First off, your choice of grey text makes it very difficult for anyone using the default website to read. You haven't done anything wrong but some people might skip over your post instead of trying to read it. If it's because of copy/paste formatting, next time I suggest choosing "paste as plain text" instead of just paste.   

Second, you say that these are what's on your ACE transcript that isn't being used at your university. Do you have other ACE classes that are being used? What are you going to take/have you taken at the regular university? Due to the nature of WGU, there won't be much overlap but there will be some. For instance, WGU does require English Composition. You can use the same class at both schools. 

For SL classes, these may be covered by what you must take at your B&M school already. However, check out https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/WGU_Academy $150/mo. for all-you-can-complete classes.

Yes, WGU has transfer credit limits. Every college does.

Many courses cannot be transferred into WGU. You must complete them at WGU.

WGU doesn't have transfer limits as much as they have a requirement that 30cr be taken through them, and there are specific courses for every degree that they won't take in transfer. But generally you can transfer in 90cr.

Also, they will want your courses that you're taking at your school now. There's no such thing as courses being "used up" for a degree. So if you complete your degree at your current school, WGU will exempt you from any GE credits, as well as look at every course you've taken and apply them to the major if possible.

They take some Sophia courses too.  Math would be the easiest there.

I would learn Java like the back of your hand before enrolling in WGU.

So sorry, I've got a dark theme app running on my laptop that basically turns my browser into dark mode. Didn't even realize I was typing in grey. Please excuse the illegibility. 

Basically everything from my ACE transcript I posted is what's on there. I do have an Associate's Degree from a community college (working on Bachelor's at uni), so I might have some overlap with Gen Ed like dfrecore mentioned.

I see. I didn't know you could use courses more than once, very good stuff to know, thank you. I do have an Associate's, so I might be able to gloss over a few courses at WGU. Thanks!
