I know but some people decide to go back to school later for a different degree. 30-odd credits are nothing to sneeze at if dfrecore suddenly decided to study psychology or something.
I would need 30 NEW credits, so the old credits wouldn't have an impact on that requirement. But I'm sure something could come up in the future to affect me.

You most likely need to create a Credly account and then start emailing providers to get your badge(s) added. CSM Learn and SDC are apparently (relatively) easy. I don't know about StraighterLine. Sophia is still figuring things out. I haven't emailed TEEX yet and don't know anyone else who has. I actually easily added the CSM to my Acclaim many months before I knew about the ACE shift, that way I could link the badge to my LinkedIn.

I don't understand why this is so confusing. ACE isn't stopping their business, they are still certifying the classes and awarding the credit, it just shows up via acclaim. Colleges that accept ACE will accept ACE via Acclaim.
If it works any other way, it would invalidate the whole purpose for the existence of ACE, and go against their mission.
"ACE delivers member value through high-quality professional learning programs that leverage a suite of blended solutions aimed at transforming institutions and diversifying the talent pipeline. ACE also offers services that demonstrate its commitment to postsecondary access and success, including the evaluation of corporate and military training experiences to ensure that all quality learning is connected and counted. Cutting-edge research and member insights on key higher education issues inform these offerings and help mobilize the community to enhance institutional performance."
The move to Acclaim to handle the digital credit certification does not change that. These colleges and universities choose to be ACE members, and likely knew this was coming and were promoting this to reduce the amount of paperwork and manual work involved in handling credit transfers.
That doesn't mean it will be easy, and that doesn't mean it will be perfect out of the way, but when you're innovating and transforming a very established and entrenched process, it will be a little bumpy for a small number of weeks.

Because ACE has provided us with very little direction in regards to exactly how the process is supposed to happen. They've been planning the switchover for months and tod us nothing and the providers not so much either. There are people who are losing credits over this and credits that aren't even that old. It's frustrating, to say the least.

It's confusing because there hasn't been a lot of communication. When you're changing your business model, you want to tell people how it's going to work. Like, "you'll need to create an Acclaim account." I couldn't find that anywhere. You also want to look at the things that are going to come up, like the fact that it may work well for courses you complete going forward, but how are they going to do this for courses you completed in the past? And what about issues where the course provider no longer exists? Or no longer has ACE credit? Read my post, and tell me where they've communicated these issues (and I'm sure I'm not the only person on earth who has issues that don't fit the norm).
So, THAT'S why it's confusing.

But you have not lost credits. Your credits still exist, they aren't able to be transferred to acclaim yet. Give it a few weeks. Does this set you back, yes, does it mean you lost anything? no.
I've been changing entrenched processes and workflows for 20 years, they never go smooth, things get missed, and yeah it sucks for end users, but it gets worked out.
Things that are common in this type of change.
1. Support almost always has no information, and if they do, it is usually wrong
2. Things aren't perfect and take time
3. Customers get impacted, but it ends up working out for them.
The lack of information to you about the status is worse, but it isn't a stopper.

Acclaim badges for The Institutes Ethics courses (old and new) are only going to be for CPCU members in good standing. That's 2 UL or 3 LL credits, depending on when you took the course. So, yes, I am losing credits. It's not enough for me to care a lot but I do feel sorry for people with ALEKS credits because those are no longer ACE courses and there doesn't seem to be any great rush to make sure that these kinds of credits carry over.

That isn't a problem with the switchover to acclaim. That is a problem with how the institutes wants to deliver their courses, and ALEKS, well that is a different problem.
All I'm saying is that what you're talking about has nothing to do with the integration of Acclaim by ACE. You aren't losing credits because of the changeover. You're losing credits for a different reason.

Not at all true! I have things in my ACE account that I CANNOT get into Acclaim for various reasons. If ACE did not change their process, then it wouldn't be an issue (I was able to transfer EVERYTHING in ACE to TESU and get my degree a couple of years ago).
The only reason I now cannot transfer these things to another school (if I wanted another degree) is because of ACE's new process.

And what I'm saying is you can't transfer them yet. They are still working through the problems.
