Someone mentioned Marylhurst University up above. Just wanted to provide an update. They closed in 2018.

Maybe include what the colleges are that are abbreviated? Everyone doesn't know what the initials stand for. People come here all the time and don't become members so that can't ask.

The thing with these is that you can google the school name (or abbreviation) and the program and come up with the info you need.  You'll find the school name easily.

Keep in mind that this list is a moving target since many colleges are adding (or have recently added) competency-based online programs these days. That list includes the following colleges:
  • Rasmussen College
  • Mary L Hurst University
  • Broward College
  • Texas State Technical College
  • Salt Lake Community College
  • University of Michigan
  • Lipscomb University
  • Wilmington University
  • University of Texas
  • Tarleton State University (Texas A&M)
I'm sure there are a number of other colleges out there that should be on that list that I am not aware of as well.

If you put the name of the program next to the school name, it's much easier for people to find.  So far, I am not finding much info.

For instance, if I can't go and google a school name with "competency-based" and get enough info to fill in my table, they won't be included.

  - Rasmussen College apparently has a program (FlexChoice) but I can't find info on which degrees it applies to, nor how much it costs.  So I'm not going to direct people to this program without some very basic info.

  - Tarleton State University has a power-point presentation on the subject, but no actual program that I can find.

  - Marylhurst University closed in 2018

  - Broward College's FastPath+ program is only for an AS in CIT or IT Systems Support Specialist & IT Analyst certificates, so doesn't fit the parameters of the post (BS degrees)

  - Texas State Technical College only has associates degree

  - Salt Lake Community College only has a Certificate of Completion, Certificate of Proficiency or Certificate of Achievement.

  - University of Michigan is for a master's degree

  - Lipscomb University has a graduate cert in Competency-Based Program Design, not an actual competency-based program

  - Wilmington University has a Pathways to Instructional Excellence program that is only for their online instructors and is not a degree program

  - University of Texas doesn't have a program that I can find

 - Texas A&M Commerce has a CBE program for 2 degrees, and I would only ever recommend it for TX residents as it's cheap for them, but incredibly expensive for anyone else

Just googling the abbreviations doesn't always work. I did that with a few and had to more info. UMH does not bring up anything related to a college. Searching for CBE programs is a pain! I spent some time yesterday doing just that. I was looking for master's programs. There are NOT many.

That's why I said use the school abbreviation AND the program.  "UMH MyWay" brings up exactly what you are looking for.

All of the lists didn't include the program name.

Keep in mind that list of schools was compiled back in 2017-2018, and a lot can change in that time. At the time those schools had either announced CBE programs or announced that they were planning to offer CBE degrees in the near future. It looks like UT and Tarleton haven't come forward with a CBE program as yet, but have previously indicated plans to do so.

Yeah, that list includes any schools offering a competency-based academic program, not just bachelor's degrees. Since at the time I was not sure what I was going to do. While it isn't necessarily on-topic for the original post, it is still potentially useful information for anyone else who is researching CBE-based degrees or programs.
Working on: Debating whether I want to pursue a doctoral program or maybe another master's degree in 2022-23

Complete:
MBA (IT Management), 2019, Western Governors University
BSBA (Computer Information Systems), 2019, Thomas Edison State University
ASNSM (Computer Science), 2019, Thomas Edison State University

My original list with the school names abbreviated does (it's the post you were replying to).
