ECE's vs. TECEP's
#1
Has anyone taken both of these exams? I'm not looking for info on a specific exam, but rather a comparison in the degree of difficulty.

I have taken TECEP's, CLEP and DSST's. I feel the TECEP's were the most challenging of the three exam types. Since TESC will also accept ECE's for credit, I was going to look into taking some ECE's over TECEP's when there are no CLEP's or DSST's available.

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks -

Wendy

I have not taken any TECEP's, but I can say that I have heard that ECE's and TECEP's are comparable...

I took the Ethics DSST and the Ethics ECE and the ECE was significantly more difficult as you can see from my grades on both. You just have to be aware going in...when it is for upper-level credit an ECE is no joke...

I have taken, TECEPs. CLEP & DSST and in my opinion DSST were the hardest. It could just be the subject matter. I would also like to know if anyone can compare these to ECE exams, there are one or two I might take.

I have taken 1 TECEP and 1 ECE. Of the two the ECE was more difficult, but mostly because it was 160 questions and I was burned out by the end. The TECEP that I took was 100 questions and more comparable to a DSST or CLEP. I think CLEP is more difficult than DSST or TECEP because there are 5 answer options instead of 4. Big difference for me.

I took all three. You can see my scores in my signature block; "As" on DSST, "A" on TECEP, mostly "Cs" on ECE.
