FREE College Certificate in WWII (not a 3rd party MOOC).
#1
Direct from the college and not a third party MOOC.
Seven videos; 7 quizzes (10-Q each), 1 Final quiz (35-q)
https://online.hillsdale.edu/#home

The Hillsdale College online learning system is better than Canvas and Blackboard and of higher quality videos.  I lost the internet and picked up right at the same spot within one minute.

I am a history channel junkie, and WWII is my favorite subject.  If you are an amateur WWII buff, this free certificate is for you!  This was my first Hillsdale certificate, and it was terrific.

Dr. Victor Davis Hanson is the Wayne and Marcia Buske Distinguished Fellow in History at Hillsdale College. He received his B.A. from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and his Ph.D. from Stanford University.

It's too bad that these are not-for-credit because a couple of these classes look like they'd be good for a TESU English degree. There are still interesting things to learn about, whether or not you get credit for them.

Agreed 100% -especially the last part. Yes - some of the courses look like they'd be good for any number of things. I was really taken by the fact they have TWO Great Books courses. Hard to find ONE these days. I'm guessing that these courses, however good and worthwhile, just don't make the numbers for credit-hours. A three credit course requires about 50 contact hours and each contact hour would mean two additional hours of assignment work or study. These courses are nowhere near that number of hours.

These are basically Federal rules and it's easy to bring up individual universities' calculations. They're all quite similar, governed by the same basic rules. Google something like "conversion of contact hours to credit hours" etc.

Credit or not - I think there's astounding educational and personal development value offered here.

Got my certificate.

I've had a fascination with history since I was a young boy. The two great wars never drew my interest, until the last few years. The bad thing about history is you learn about one thing, and it draws you into finding out more, which opens up new doors...... and it just does. not. stop. : /

Hey Stoic!

What does the certificate look like?
And do you plan to take any more of their courses?

Thanks!

I did enjoy the course enough that I would like to do others. If I could download the audio and increase playback to 1.5X, I'd listen while driving.
