BSBA Marketing from TESU
#1
Hey guys Im back on the forum after a while off.  4 months late I discovered the Sophia free time so I think I can knock out Project Management and IT tomorrow as I already know the content pretty well, and then prob do another 5 or so through Sophia to pay them back for the free classes.

So, Here is the plan.  I am listed on TESU as 2018 catalog but Im pretty sure im not active so likely need to update for 2020.  I am calling tomorrow to schedule an advising appointment but wanted to see what the collective thought first so I can present my plan to them.

I might end up doing most of the UL stuff on Saylor unstead of DAVAR Business class but that wont change the classes.  I dont know if I can get away with two Sophia sciences with no labs so if I need to swap one out for a 4 credit lab course i will drop the foundation of stats, otherwise ill drop one of the 1 credit freebies from sophia but have them listed since they are done.

I also have an ALEKS Trig class from 2018 but having a hard time getting ALEKS to tell ACE I did it because I ended my paid program before it got confirmed so I dont have that listed.

TESU does not accept Shmoop. You have a lot of courses from them on your plan. I would look at SDC, Sophia, or StraighterLine for those courses if possible. TESU does accept a great number of courses from all 3.

If you update to 2020 catalog, you're going to have to take the cornerstone class instead of the professional writing Shmoop you have listed there. They may or may not take the Shmoop courses you have in blue since they accepted them before Shmoop was banned but they almost certainly will not accept the Shmoop in green that you have completed and not had transcripted. You might want to take a look at ASU's Earned Admissions to see what, if any, classes you might want to take from there rather than SDC/Shmoop/Sophia. The classes starting on the 18th are only $99 total, each. For instance, ASU has Macroeconomic Principles that transfers to TESU as Macroeconomics. They also have sociology, human communication, and others.

Yes I only have two from Shmoop that arent already on my transcript, but they were taken before TESU decided not to accept Shmoop so I am going to try and get them added and if not then I can move Professional writing to an elective since I will almost definately be moved to the 2020 catalog.

Ill check out ASU as well thanks for the tip!

Hey scaffdog, long time no chat. If you have taken a course or a TECEP, you should still be able to retain your 2018 catalog year. I highly recommend finishing off the degree requirements with Sophia.org, Study.com combo, if you want alternatives because of cost, then Davar/Saylor would an alternative, you won't save much and Saylor may be a "headache". Yes I spoke with a recruiter yesterday and she reviewed my profile and noted that I am within the 3 year window so that protects my prior evaluation, but I didnt realize it kept me locked into the 2018 catalog as well.  My process with Saylor is going to be go straight to the non credit exam and if I get a solid grade Ill sign right up for a proctored exam, if not then Ill probably just go to Study.com.
